I could do with a digital detox! I've taken to keeping my phone upstairs whilst I'm watching TV in the evenings cos I realised I was only half watching things! So glad you're feeling better, maybe you can have some belated Christmas celebrations?

Great post, Sarah! I usually don't use social media much when I'm at my happiest. Same when I visit my family- I can go a whole weekend at my mum and dad's with not a single photo taken. I decided to completely start again with blogging a few months ago to make it just for me, and it's so much more fun. x

I totally get this. While I am sometimes in awe of friends who have managed to make a career out of blogging, I'm really glad that I'm not tied to the blog. I LOVE blogging but it's nice to know that if I decided to take a few weeks, hell even a month off the old blog then it won't affect me financially at all. I know what you mean about putting life into perspective. I know all too well what it's like to have a very poorly grandparent in hospital. I liked having the blog to put my thoughts out there when my grandad passed recently, and it reminded me how much I like the journal aspect of blogging. It's nice to know that people read it - but for me, like you, it's not about the hits, likes or comments anymore! :)

I'm planning a digital detox in the new year - not sure how long it will last for but sometimes it's nice to do things and not document / share it all? Most of my non-internet friends don't have IG or Twitter and I think we mutually find it all v weird!<3 x
